Netflix UK Price Increase 2026: UK vs Other Countries

Netflix UK Premium now costs £20.99 a month. See how all three UK plans compare with prices in the US, Europe, Canada, Australia, India and Pakistan.

The Netflix UK price increase means Standard with ads now costs £7.99 a month, Standard costs £13.99, and Premium costs £20.99. Compared with the previous prices tracked by Subscription Land, that is another £1 or £2 a month, depending on your plan.

How does that stack up abroad? UK Premium now costs more than Premium in the US, Germany, Spain, Canada and Australia, when converted to pounds. Ireland is higher at about £22.27 a month, while India is around £5.05 and Pakistan around £2.94.

The answer changes with your plan, though. UK Standard costs less than its US equivalent, while UK Standard with ads costs more. Here are the increases and the country comparisons for each tier.

Standard with ads has the largest percentage increase: £2 more on a £5.99 subscription is a rise of 33.4%. Premium also adds £2, while Standard rises by £1.

Netflix prices by country: how does the UK compare?

For Premium, the UK is the second most expensive of the 15 countries below. Ireland is the only one higher; the US comes just below the UK, followed by Germany, France and Spain.

Premium costs EUR 21.99 in Germany, France and Spain—about £18.84. The UK price is roughly £2.15 higher each month, a difference of £25.80 over a year at these prices and exchange rates.

The US price is much closer: USD 26.99 converts to about £20.00, just 99p below the UK. In Canada, Premium costs CAD 23.99, or around £12.76. That makes the UK £8.23 more expensive each month.

Netflix Standard and Standard with ads: UK vs other countries

The UK–US comparison reverses for Standard. UK subscribers pay £13.99, compared with the equivalent of £14.82 in the US. Standard with ads goes the other way: £7.99 in the UK versus about £6.66 in the US.

The UK has the highest Standard with ads price among these nine countries. Germany and Italy are about £2 a month cheaper, while Spain is only around 29p cheaper.

Canada and Australia are cheaper than the UK on both plans. Canadian Standard is approximately £10.10 a month, and Australian Standard is around £10.99, compared with £13.99 in the UK.

Netflix Premium in India and Pakistan costs a fraction of the UK price

The biggest differences in the Premium table are India and Pakistan. India’s INR 649 monthly price converts to about £5.05, while Pakistan’s PKR 1,100 converts to around £2.94. UK Premium is roughly four times the Indian price and seven times the Pakistani price.

The UK–India gap is about £15.94 a month. The UK–Pakistan gap is around £18.05. Both comparisons are for Premium; India and Pakistan also have lower-priced tiers, which are excluded from this table.

These differences show how much Netflix prices vary by billing country. A conversion to pounds makes the amounts easier to compare, but does not measure affordability against local wages.

What the new UK prices cost over a year

At the new monthly rates, a full year of Netflix costs £95.88 with ads, £167.88 for Standard, or £251.88 for Premium. These totals assume 12 payments at the same price.

Premium is £7 a month more than Standard, a difference of £84 a year. Standard is £6 a month more than Standard with ads, or £72 a year. Those gaps are worth weighing against the features you use and whether you want an ad-free plan.
